19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
